Student Story Namtip lives with her mother and step-father. Namtip has three older sisters (ages 10, 12, and 14) and has two younger sisters (ages 6, and another 3 month baby). Namtip was born into a Christian family and is part of the Ahka tribe here in the northern part of Thailand. Her step-father helps support the family by picking up hired work jobs when he can. He makes 300 Baht a day when he can get work ($12USD). Namtip’s favorite subject at school is her Thai language class. When she grows up she wants to be a teacher.
